The Magic Flute
Group project to reinvent the Opera for a new audience. We designed a fold out stage which would travel around the country to take the Opera to the audience. The minimal stage set is the backdrop to projected scenery which creates atmosphere and aids the narrative of the show. The performers interact with the projections and the tale is played out in the set with a combination of live acting and projected footage to create an overall heightened visual experience.

Oscillating Light Machine
Using instructions based on Brion Gysin's original plans I built a dreamachine of my own. This simple oscillating light machine creates flickers of light of a specific frequency which when you position your closed eyes in front of it it produces pleasurable vivid visual sensations. Gradually a kaleidoscope of colour builds; mandala-like geometric patterns, visions of space, cogs, landscapes, human faces and even whole scenes are played out before your closed eyelids.
Eve Getting Dressed
One of a batch of six hand-bound books telling my specially adapted version of the story of Eve in the Garden of Eden.

When I Close My Eyes...
On the threshold of sleep and consciousness, people describe experiences of the visual manifestation of feelings or situations as hovering shapes or textures in their minds eye. This animation depicts what I see when I close my eyes...
This was also displayed at 'Light Show' an exhibition of graphic and illustration work by second year students at Brighton Uni held at a Screen Printing studio on Providence Place, Brighton.

Six days in New York
The experience of arriving in a new city can be overwhelming; you are struck by a barrage of unfamiliar sights and sounds. The animation demonstrates this with a building sense of anxiety and an over-stimulation of the senses.

Submission for class Exhibition entitled 'all you need is...' at Artist Residence, a hotel and art gallery in Brighton. My take on this theme was about the reproductive capacity of rabbits; during one mating season a female rabbit can produce over 800 offspring. All you need is... two rabbits.
The piece is a collage of two rabbits drawn using dip pen and Quink ink made up of hundreds of smaller rabbits drawn using the same technique.
